LAHORE: Distinguished Punjabi and Urdu writer Bano Qudsia passed away at the age of 88 in a hospital in Lahore on Saturday after prolonged illness.
She had been under treatment in the hospital for the past 10 days.
Bano Qudsia was born in Ferozpur, Punjab, British India in 1928. She had migrated along with her family to Pakistan after the Partition.
Her novel ‘Raja Gidh’ was rated amongst the classics in Urdu, and she had written 25 other books as well.
Qudsia had also written plays and television scripts in Urdu and Punjabi languages and her most noticeable play was ‘Adhi Baat’
She was the wife of noted Pakistani author Ashfaq Ahmed who had died of Pancreatic cancer on September 7,2004.
